Hillsdale is rapidly increasing in prominence and in my opinion exceeds many Ivy League programs. It's definitely a bubble, but a great bubble to live in. Very high caliber of students and faculty. If you are strongly leftist, atheist, uninterested in academics, are promiscuous, or like to drink/smoke/do drugs, not for you. Many students are engaged/married by graduation! They say to find someone here because once you leave you'll be disappointed by who you find. The professors are brilliant and are easy to approach. I'm Catholic, and the Catholic Society is a strong and amazing organization. Sometimes this causes interdenominational conflicts, but you can avoid it rather easily. The religious community is unbelievably strong. If you want to grow closer to God, this is a place to do it. Sophomore: The students, staff, and environment are incredible. Being involved in the multicultural organization as both vice-president and acting president was another highlight of my time at CU, as the campus really bands together to enjoy staples such as annual Mixed Threads celebrations. There's not much emotional, spiritual, or social support for POC, so it can be quite a culture shock coming to CU. The only thing that I will say CU can improve in is attracting and maintaining a more diverse student body, especially for African-American students. It was because of CU's generosity that I was able to experience one of the most life-changing moments in my entire life - studying abroad in Rome! There's quite a bit to do in terms of enjoying campus life, and even more to do in the surrounding GR area. They always bring in various guest artists throughout the year (2 which each stay a full semester, even) and host plenty of performance opportunities and auditions. I am a member of the dance department and I can speak on behalf of their excellent, top-notch training. However, there is no doubt that this is a fantastic place to be educated. Professors are also really understanding and would often give students a second chance under reasonable situations (hardly like to fail their students). As a stem major, Andrews has some of the best academic stem programs and offers a lot of science-related/research opportunities. One of the reasons I chose Andrews was its science programs. However, the relationships I built and the emotional/academic support I got from it was beyond a blessing.

As an international student, my first year was pretty tough considering I was living in a community far from home. The University would often create social programs to try to engage social interactions between different communities within the school. You get to build incredible relationships with people from different backgrounds and learn so much about other cultures.
